Capture The Flag
The latest buzz down the P.E. hall is the new game being played, Capture The Flag. This game is played with two teams in a huge area. Here is how the game is played:
The area is divided in half with cones. Each team has a marked off area on their side of the field where they have 10 flags. The players have to cross the cones and run on the other teams side to get a flag and bring it back to their side. If they get tagged on the other teams side, the player must return the flag and walk back to his or her team's side. The only safe zone is hula hoops. If a player stops in a hula hoop they cannot be tagged until they leave the hoop. There are also different obstacles set up for the teams to hide or use to their advantage. Each game lasts 5-10 minutes. The team that has the most flags on their side is the winning team.
Benefits of playing Capture the Flag and many skills that are used:
-Speed
-Agility
-Chasing
-Fleeing
-Dodging
Here are some great websites with different variations of the game:

~This game can be played virtually anywhere. So get some friends together after school and have fun and get active!!!
